Design and acoustic performance CLIPSO for the renewal Monaco Olympic Swimming Pool.

Olivier Veyres from ARCH Monaco architectural firm has drawn on CLIPSO’s expertise in cutting-edge high-performance acoustic ceilings as part of the project to renovate Monaco Olympic Swimming Pool. It was decided to install customised frames for the main section and a lightweight version for the smaller area. 95 rings with a diameter of 2 m and a further 90 rings with a diameter of 3 m were smoothly incorporated in the square-shaped structures of the old ceiling.

Made out of sky-blue and foamy white coloured SO ACOUSTIC canvas, the ceiling blends into the extension to the pool. 14 SO LIGHT cornices, rear-lit with LEDs, complete this very edgy contemporary design. 15 different-shaped panels also made of sky blue and foamy white acoustic canvas have been fitted directly to the wall to inject life into some of the areas, including the part holding the Olympic diving board.

In order to comply to the project’s technical constraints and tight schedule, CLIPSO treated all the aluminium profiles, frames and Melton cloth with QUALIMARINE that can withstand high levels of dampness and humidity. Installation at ambient temperature enabled the operation to be carried out on schedule, so that the swimming pool could be officially opened on time. For practical reasons, all the frames are removable and inclined at an angle, so that maintenance teams can carry out their work at any time. The reduced weight, thanks to the use of special materials, makes them much easier to handle. CLIPSO solutions meet the architectural firm’s environmental sustainability standards, providing an eco-friendly product with no PVC that has also been awarded GREENGUARD GOLD and A + certification.
