FACCHINELLI, DABOIT, SAVIANE, SECONDARY SCHOOL, PUOS D'ALPAGO, ITALY

This project comes from a competition promoted by the Municipality of Alpago, a small town with a population of about 6,000 in the province of Belluno, which wanted to invest in education to try and hold onto its young people.

The building, which is based on the theme of a 'covered square,' is made of a structure suspended over four cores creating a sheltered space that ensures direct continuity between the inside and outside.

The coloured concrete cores enclosing the utility areas mark the boundary of the ‘agora’ that features wooden constructions accommodating the reading room and reception area.

A tree-lined axis runs through the building to shape the inside of the school into perimeter courtyards illuminating the communal spaces. There are two floors of classrooms and laboratories around the agora connected by glass walls and sliding partitions.

The project is focused on creating a harmonious combination of forms, structures and materials through an exposed concrete shell designed using the latest cutting-edge technology, which, in addition to not requiring any further finishing layers, is fitted with its own insulation and plant-engineering systems.

Le Ville collection by CASALGRANDE PADANA offers a balanced range of interior coatings/coverings.
The indoor flooring and surfaces of some of the walls are made of ceramic stoneware tiles inspired by Le Ville collection by Casalgrande Padana in a colour called ‘Pisani’. The tiles measure 60x120 cm and cover an overall surface of 1,700 sqm.

Le Ville collection is a modern twist on the old 'Venetian terrace'; irregular patterns and geometric weaves in the ceramic tiles create highly intricate and elaborate designs.

Rectified and perfectly flat, the smoothness and size of the ceramic tiles from the Le Ville collection make them ideal for creating seamless surfaces exploiting the remarkable properties of ceramic tiles with the utmost creativity.
