NEW FRENCH HIGH-SPEED TRAIN BY AREP AND NENDO

Le groupe AREP et de l’agence japonaise NENDO se sont associés pour imaginer la ligne de la nouvelle rame du TGV qui circulera à partir de 2026. Les deux agences ont constitué un plateau projet commun pour maximiser les synergies entre designers et avec les équipes d’Alstom et de SNCF Voyageurs. Ils ont adopté une méthode itérative incluant des tests utilisateurs, des ateliers d’ambiance et des phases de prototypage chez Alstom à La Rochelle.  

 

The designers from the AREP group and the Japanese agency NENDO joined forces in 2018 to design the line of the new TGV train that will be in service from 2026. Our two agencies have formed a joint project team to maximise synergies between designers and with the teams from Alstom and SNCF Voyageurs. They have adopted an iterative method including user tests, atmosphere workshops and prototyping phases at Alstom in La Rochelle.

 

Il gruppo AREP e lo studio giapponese NENDO si sono associati per progettare la linea del nuovo treno TGV, che sarà operativo a partire dal 2026. Grazie a una piattaforma di progetto congiunta hanno consolidato le sinergie con i team di Alstom e SNCF Voyageurs adottando un metodo iterativo che comprende test utente, studi sull'atmosfera e fasi di prototipazione presso Alstom a La Rochelle.

Le projet s’appuie sur le concept de Flow incarnant une expérience nouvelle dans l’environnement ferroviaire, du nez du train d’une forme plus aérodynamique qui permet une meilleure pénétration dans l’air, à ses aménagements intérieurs. Le Flow reflète l’ambition écologique du train et l’engagement d’AREP pour un design post-carbone. 

 

The design is based on the “flow” concept Flow Train which represents a new experience in the railway environment, from the more aerodynamic front of the train for better air penetration to its interior fittings. The concept reflects the train’s ecological ambition and AREP’s commitment to a post-carbon design. This approach enables them to work step by step to scrutinise the project in the light of the requirements of a high-use industrial design object, always bearing in mind the flow, the initial concept of the project.

Il progetto si basa sul concetto di Flow, che incarna una nuova esperienza nell'ambiente ferroviario, dal design più aerodinamico della testa del treno per una migliore penetrazione nell'atmosfera fino ai suoi allestimenti interni. Il “flow” riflette l'ambizione ecologica del treno e l'impegno di AREP nella progettazione post-carbonio.

 

Fondé sur une idée simple: le train ne ressemble à aucun autre moyen de transport, il se fraye un chemin dans le paysage, un peu comme l’écoulement d’une rivière. Le concept de flow joue ainsi avec une ligne d’horizon fluide qui traverse tous les éléments, renforce la perspective et évoque la surface de l’eau.  

The ‘flow’ is based on a simple idea: the train is unlike any other means of transport, it carves its way through the landscape, a bit like a river flowing. The concept thus plays with a fluid horizon line that runs through all the elements, reinforces the perspective and evokes the surface of the water.

Flow si basa su un'idea semplice: il treno è diverso da qualsiasi altro mezzo di trasporto, attraversa il paesaggio, un po' come il corso di un fiume. Il concetto di flusso gioca quindi con una linea di orizzonte fluida che precorre tutti gli elementi, dà un orizzonte, rafforza la prospettiva ed evoca la superficie dell'acqua.

Tous les intérieurs, les détails ont été repensés avec un thème central: créer une bulle de confort plus douce et plus personnelle dans un espace partagé. Ces aménagements sont aussi le reflet des qualités écologiques du train et de notre engagement en faveur d’un design post-carbone. 97% des matériaux employés sont recyclables. En extérieur, des teintes claires renforcent l’albédo et permettent de diminuer la consommation énergétique en été. Crédit photo: Yann Audic

 

All the interiors and details have been redesigned with a central theme: to create a softer and more personal bubble of comfort in a shared space. These developments also reflect the ecological qualities of the train and our commitment to a post-carbon design. 97% of the materials used are recyclable. Gli interni e i dettagli sono stati riprogettati seguendo un tema centrale: creare un'atmosfera di comfort più morbida e personale in uno spazio condiviso. Questi sviluppi riflettono anche le qualità ecologiche del treno e il nostro impegno verso una progettazione post-carbonio. Il 97% dei materiali utilizzati è riciclabile.
