Parmi les initiatives de la saison estivale ʺGrand Palais d’étéʺ, la Nef Nord du Grand Palais Rmn, accueille jusqu’au 25 juillet l’installation monumentale Nosso Barco Tambor Terra de l’artiste brésilien Ernesto Neto (Rio de Janeiro, 1964).
As part of the “Grand Palais d'été” summer season of events, the North Nave of the Grand Palais Rmn will be hosting a monumental installation called “Nosso Barco Tambor Terra” by the Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto (Rio de Janeiro, 1964) running until 25th July.

Composée de crochet tissé à la main, d’écorce, de terre, d’épices et d’instruments de percussions, cet environnement multisensoriel manifeste une relation fondamentale à la nature et explore la continuité entre notre propre corps et le corps de la Terre à travers la fabrication manuelle, les matériaux organiques et les techniques ancestrales.
Composed of hand-woven crochet, bark, earth, spices and percussion instruments, this multi-sensory environment is characterised by its fundamental relationship with nature and explores the continuity between our bodies and the body of the Earth through craftsmanship, organic materials and ancient techniques.

da uncinetto intrecciato a mano, corteccia, terra, spezie e strumenti a
percussione, questo ambiente multisensoriale manifesta una relazione
fondamentale con la natura ed esplora la continuità tra i nostri corpi e il
corpo della Terra attraverso l'artigianato, i materiali organici e tecniche
ancestrali.

La sculpture intègre un large éventail d’instruments du monde entier, avec des activations périodiques au cours desquelles le public est invité à entrer et à jouer sur les tambours dissimulés à l’intérieur. En unissant nos différences culturelles, l’artiste évoque de manière poétique la possibilité d’une communication universelle par le biais de pulsations et de rythmes.
The sculpture incorporates miscellaneous instruments from around the world, regularly inviting the public to come in and play the drums hidden inside. By unifying our cultural differences, the artist poetically evokes the possibility of universal communication through rhythms and beats.
La scultura incorpora molteplici strumenti provenienti da tutto il mondo, con attivazioni periodiche durante le quali il pubblico è invitato a entrare e suonare i tamburi nascosti al suo interno. Unendo le nostre differenze culturali, l'artista evoca poeticamente la possibilità di una comunicazione universale attraverso impulsi e ritmi.
