Sur l’Île de Porquerolles, la Fondation Carmignac présente une ode éclatante à la liberté et à la vitalité des années 1960 et 1970, à travers l’invocation de l’esprit Pop. Ici, entre les pins et la mer, loin des villes, dans la lumière, les couleurs et les parfums de la Méditerranée, le Pop Art révèle des facettes inédites. Il ne se nourrit plus d’objets du quotidien ou de réclames urbaines, mais de motifs d’une autre dimension : le ciel, la mer, le soleil et les vacances.

The island of Porquerolles is the location of the Carmignac Foundation’s unmissable tribute to the freedom and vitality of the 1960s and 1970s by showcasing the evocation of the Pop spirit. Amidst the pine groves and waters of this protected island far from city life in the light, colours and scents of the Mediterranean, Pop Art reveals a different side to itself, no longer inspired by consumer goods or urban advertising, but drawing instead from motifs from another dimension: the sky, sea, sun and holidays.

Sull'isola di Porquerolles, la Fondazione Carmignac presenta un imperdibile omaggio alla libertà e alla vitalità degli anni '60 e '70, attraverso l'evocazione dello spirito Pop. In questa isola protetta, tra pinete e il mare, lontano dalle città, nella luce, nei colori e nei profumi del Mediterraneo, la Pop Art svela una nuova dimensione, non più ispirata agli oggetti di uso quotidiano o alla pubblicità urbana, ma prende spunto da motivi di un'altra dimensione: il cielo, il mare, il sole e le vacanze.

Tout en célébrant leur intégration dans la société de consommation, le Pop Art fait aussi surgir de ces paysages et de ces scènes estivales une sensualité et une intensité nouvelles, parfois même cosmiques. Derrière l’exaltation portée par les pionniers du Pop Art, comme par celles et ceux qui s’en inspirent aujourd’hui, affleure la conscience d’un paradis éphémère, avec ses artifices et ses désillusions. Quel souffle et quel élan l’esprit Pop peut-il encore donner ?

While celebrating integration into consumer society, Pop Art brings out a new sensuality and intensity in these landscapes, sometimes even of a cosmic nature. Behind the exuberance conveyed by the pioneers of Pop Art and those who still draw inspiration from it today lies an awareness of this transient paradise with all its artifices and disillusionments. What scope and drive does the Pop spirit still have to offer?

Pur celebrando l’ integrazione nella società dei consumi, la Pop Art fa emergere in questi paesaggi una nuova sensualità e intensità, a volte persino cosmica. Dietro l'esaltazione trasmessa dai pionieri della Pop Art, così come da coloro che oggi ne traggono ispirazione, si cela la consapevolezza di un paradiso effimero, con i suoi artifici e le sue disillusioni. Quale respiro e slancio può ancora offrire lo spirito Pop?

Rassemblant plus de 80 œuvres – dont 15 issues de la collection Carmignac – Sea, Pop & Sun, sous le commissariat de Dieter Buchhart et Anna Karina Hofbauer, fait dialoguer des icônes du Pop Art comme Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Marjorie Strider, Evelyne Axell ou Martial Raysse, avec des artistes contemporains qui prolongent ou interrogent ce mouvement, comme Derrick Adams, Cosima von Bonin ou Judy Chicago. L’artiste Théo Mercier investira l’espace central situé sous le plafond d’eau avec une sculpture monumentale inédite, réalisée spécifiquement dans le cadre de l’exposition.

Bringing together over 80 works, including 15 from the Carmignac Collection, the exhibition curated by Dieter Buchhart and Anna Karina Hofbauer sets up a dialogue between Pop Art icons, such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Marjorie Strider, Evelyne Axell and Martial Raysse, and contemporary artists who extend or challenge this movement, such as Derrick Adams, Cosima von Bonin and Judy Chicago. The artist Théo Mercier will occupy the central space beneath the water ceiling with an original monumental sculpture made specially for the exhibition.

Riunendo oltre 80 opere, di cui 15 provenienti dalla Collezione Carmignac, la mostra a cura di Dieter Buchhart e Anna Karina Hofbauer, allaccia un dialogo tra icone della Pop Art come Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Marjorie Strider, Evelyne Axell e Martial Raysse, e artisti contemporanei che estendono o mettono in discussione questo movimento, come Derrick Adams, Cosima von Bonin e Judy Chicago. L'artista Théo Mercier occuperà lo spazio centrale sotto il soffitto d'acqua con una monumentale scultura originale creata appositamente per la mostra.
