SKIDMORE, OWINGS & MERRILL: HIDDEN FURNITURE MASTERPIECES

Rarify, marque fondée par les architectes Jeremy Bilotti et David Rosenwasser et reconnue pour ses collections de mobilier vintage et contemporain, présente à la galerie LuisaViaRoma New York la toute première exposition consacrée aux créations de mobilier et design d'intérieur de Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), qui célèbre cette année son 90e anniversaire.

Rarify, a brand founded by the architects Jeremy Bilotti and David Rosenwasser and renowned for its collections of vintage and contemporary furniture, is showing the first exhibition dedicated to the furniture and interior design creations of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM)at LuisaViaRoma gallery in New York to commemorate the architecture firm’s 90^th anniversary.

Rarify, marchio fondato dagli architetti Jeremy Bilotti e David Rosenwasser e rinomato per le sue collezioni di mobili vintage e contemporanei, presenta alla galleria LuisaViaRoma di New York la prima mostra dedicata alle creazioni di arredamento e interior design di Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), che quest'anno celebra il suo 90° anniversario.

Jusqu’à fin avril, l’exposition retrace l’évolution du langage des matériaux chez SOM – structures en acier inoxydable poli à la main, surfaces en verre et en pierre, noyer et teck pour les espaces de direction, et palissandre et loupes exotiques réservés aux bureaux Executive – à travers une soixantaine de pièces de mobilier historique, principalement réalisées sur mesure, ainsi que plus de 100 documents d'archives provenant intégralement de la collection Rarify.

Running until the end of April, the exhibition traces the evolution of SOM's material-driven idiom – hand-polished stainless steel structures, glass and stone surfaces, walnut and teak for office spaces, and rosewood and exotic veneers reserved for executive offices – through around sixty historic pieces of furniture, mainly custom-made, and more than 100 archival documents, all taken from the Rarify collection.

Fino a fine aprile, la mostra ripercorre l'evoluzione del linguaggio materico di SOM – strutture in acciaio inox lucidato a mano, superfici in vetro e pietra, noce e teak per gli spazi direzionali, palissandro e radiche esotiche riservate agli uffici executive – attraverso una sessantina di mobili storici, realizzati principalmente su misura, e oltre 100 documenti d'archivio tratti interamente dalla collezione Rarify.
