Desert X a annoncé les artistes participants à la cinquième exposition d'art internationale site-specific, qui se déroulera du 8 mars au 11 mai 2025, dans plusieurs lieux de la vallée de Coachella. Onze artistes d’Asie, d’Europe, des Amériques et du Moyen-Orient proposent des manières alternatives de regarder un monde de plus en plus impacté par les effets transformateurs de la nature et de l’humanité, en adoptant à la fois des expressions matérielles et architecturales ainsi que l’insaisissable et l’immatériel pour explorer les idées de temporalité et les récits non linéaires du temps du désert.
Desert X announced the participating artists in its fifth edition of the site-specific, international art exhibition opening March 8 – May 11, 2025 at sites across the Coachella Valley. Eleven artists from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East provide us with alternative ways of looking at a world increasingly encircled by the transformational effects of nature and humanity, adopting both material, architectural forms and the elusive and the immaterial to delve into ideas of temporality and nonlinear narratives of desert time.
Desert X ha annunciato gli artisti partecipanti alla quinta edizione della mostra d'arte internazionale site-specific che aprirà dall'8 marzo fino all'11 maggio 2025 in diversi luoghi della Coachella Valley. Undici artisti provenienti da Asia, Europa, Americhe e Medio Oriente ci offrono modi alternativi di guardare un mondo sempre più impattato dagli effetti trasformativi della natura e dell'umanità, adottando sia espressioni materiali e architettoniche sia l'elusivo e l'immateriale per addentrarsi nelle idee di temporalità e nelle narrazioni non lineari del tempo del deserto.
Dirigée par Neville Wakefield et la co-commissaire Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas, ʺDesert X 2025 reflète l'évolution profonde du désert au fil du temps et révèle le paysage de la vallée de Coachella comme une toile de situations réelles et imaginaires, narrant des histoires de déplacement, de souveraineté et d'adaptation superposées sur des témoignages visibles du tempsʺ, a déclaré Garcia-Maestas.
Curated by Neville Wakefield and Co-curator Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas, “Desert X 2025 reflects on the desert's deep time evolutions, and “reveals the landscape of the Coachella Valley as a canvas of real and imagined histories, narrating tales of displacement, sovereignty, and adaptation superimposed over visible testaments of time,” said Garcia-Maestas.
