Depuis 2006, la Fondation Boghossian porte à Bruxelles un projet patrimonial et humaniste d’envergure : redonner vie à la Villa Empain, bâtiment emblématique de l’Art Déco bruxellois, et en faire un lieu de dialogue entre les cultures.

The Boghossian Foundation has been carrying out a major cultural and humanist project in Brussels since 2006 focused on bringing Villa Empain back to life, an iconic Art Deco building in Brussels, and turning it into a place for dialogue between cultures.

Dal 2006, la Fondazione Boghossian porta avanti a Bruxelles un grande progetto culturale e umanista: ridare vita a Villa Empain, edificio emblematico dell'Art Déco di Bruxelles, e trasformarlo in un luogo di dialogo tra le culture.

Présentée jusqu’au 4 octobre, Diary of Happiness est la première exposition majeure de Jean-Michel Othoniel à Bruxelles, réunissant plus d’une centaine d’œuvres inspirées par trente ans de voyages à travers le monde. En écho à la mission de la Fondation Boghossian, au service du dialogue entre les cultures, l’artiste invite à un parcours qui retrace les voyages qui ont formé son regard sur le monde, Arménie, Belgique, Italie, États-Unis, France, Inde, Japon ou Turquie sont autant de destinations faites de rencontres et d’échanges.

On display until 4^th Octob, Diary of Happiness is Jean-Michel Othoniel's first major exhibition in the Belgian capital, bringing together more than a hundred works inspired by thirty years of travels around the world. Echoing the mission of the Boghossian Foundation, which promotes dialogue between cultures, the artist retraces the journeys that shaped his world view. Armenia, Belgium, Italy, the United States, France, India, Japan, and Turkey are all destinations full of personal encounters and interaction. 

In mostra fino al 4 ottobre, Diary of Happiness è la prima grande mostra di Jean-Michel Othoniel nella capitale belga, che riunisce più di cento opere ispirate da trent'anni di viaggi intorno al mondo. Facendo eco alla missione della Fondazione Boghossian, al servizio del dialogo tra le culture, l'artista ripercorre i viaggi che hanno plasmato la sua visione del mondo, Armenia, Belgio, Italia, Stati Uniti, Francia, India, Giappone e Turchia sono tutte destinazioni ricche di incontri e scambi.

En plus des sculptures et installations monumentales qui se déploient au jardin et dans les espaces de la Villa Empain, une centaine d’aquarelles, telles un carnet de voyage, se révèlent au fil des salles, comme le journal de toutes ses années passées à l’étranger. La maison habitée par les œuvres de Jean-Michel Othoniel devient un lieu de mémoire, de voyage intérieur, fait de transformations et de rêveries, un point de départ et d’arrivée.

In addition to the monumental sculptures and installations displayed in the garden and spaces of Villa Empain, around a hundred watercolours, set out like a travel diary, are displayed in the rooms, telling the story of all his years spent abroad. The house showcasing the works of Jean-Michel Othoniel is a place focused on an inner journey into the past featuring transformations and daydreams, both a departure point and destination.

Oltre alle sculture monumentali e alle installazioni esposte nel giardino e negli spazi di Villa Empain, un centinaio di acquerelli, come un diario di viaggio, si svelano nelle sale, raccontando tutti i suoi anni trascorsi all'estero. La casa abitata dalle opere di Jean-Michel Othoniel diventa un luogo di memoria, di viaggio interiore, fatto di trasformazioni e rêverie, un punto di partenza e di arrivo.
