La Wormhole Library, conçue par MAD Architects, a été achevée dans la ville de Haikou, en Chine, fin janvier 2021. Surplombant la mer de Chine méridionale, la bibliothèque Wormhole, à l'intérieur du parc Century le long de la côte de la baie de Haikou, accueillera des espaces de lecture et un aire de repos publique pour les visiteurs.
The Wormhole Library, designed by MAD Architects, has topped-out in the city of Haikou, China at the end of January 2021. Overlooking the China South Sea, the Wormhole Library is situated within the Century Park along the Haikou Bay coastline and accommodating spaces for reading, and a public rest area for visitors.
La Wormhole Library, progettata da MAD Architects, è stata completata nella città di Haikou, in Cina a fine di gennaio 2021. Affacciata sul Mar Cinese Meridionale, la Wormhole Library, all'interno del Century Park lungo la costa della Baia di Haikou ospiterà spazi per la lettura e un'area di sosta pubblica per i visitatori.
Les murs courbes en béton blanc de forme organique sont perforés avec des ouvertures de différentes tailles, permettant à l'architecture de respirer, tout en laissant la lumière naturelle inonder les espaces intérieurs. Les couloirs extérieurs offrent aux passants des endroits ombragés pour se reposer.
The curved concrete walls not only serve as an organic architectural structure, but also connect the ceiling, ground, and walls together. Holes of varying sizes allow the architecture to breathe, while also letting natural light flood the interior. The grey spaces of the exterior corridors provide shaded spots for passers-by to stop and rest.
Le pareti curve in cemento bianco dalla forma organica sono “forate” con aperture di varie dimensioni permettono all'architettura di respirare, lasciando anche che la luce naturale inondi gli spazi interni. I corridoi esterni forniscono punti ombreggiati ai passanti per fermarsi e riposarsi.
À l'intérieur de la bibliothèque, les personnes interagissent directement avec le ciel et la mer sans être dominés par l'architecture, ils peuvent lire, profiter de la vue sur la mer et regarder des spectacles en plein air, s'éloignant temporairement de l'agitation de la vie quotidienne. Le projet devrait être opérationnel au printemps 2021.
Within the library, people interact directly with both the sky and sea. Humans are no longer the dominant beings, and architecture is no longer the dominant vessel. The Wormhole Library allows visitors to read, enjoy views of the sea, and attend open-air performances, temporarily removing themselves from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The project is scheduled to be completed and operational in the Spring of 2021.
All'interno della biblioteca, le persone interagiscono direttamente con il cielo e il mare senza essere dominati dall’architettura, possono leggere, godere della vista sul mare e assistere a spettacoli all'aperto, allontanandosi temporaneamente dal caos e dalla frenesia della vita quotidiana. Il progetto dovrebbe essere completato e operativo nella primavera del 2021.
