OCT DESIGN MUSEUM, SHENZHEN, CHINA, STUDIO PEI-ZHU

 

L'inspiration du projet vient du contexte de la baie et de la volonté de créer un espace d'exposition surréaliste. Le musée du design OCT se concentre principalement sur les défilés de mode, la conception de produits et les salons automobiles conceptuels. Le design intérieur est décrit par une surface incurvée blanche continue qui ne projette aucune ombre et ne lit pas la profondeur. Le résultat est un espace illimité qui semble se développer à l’infini.

 

The inspiration for the project comes from the context of the bay and from the desire for a surreal exhibition space. The OCT design museum focuses mainly on fashion shows, product design, and conceptual automotive shows. The design of the interior relies on a continuous white curving surface that casts no shadows and reads no depth. The result is a boundless space that seems to continue infinitely. The building becomes a blank surreal background, with only small triangular windows scattered randomly, as if they were birds in flight. 

 

L'ispirazione per il progetto nasce dal contesto della baia e dal desiderio di uno spazio espositivo surreale. Il museo del design OCT si concentra principalmente su sfilate di moda, design di prodotti e spettacoli automobilistici concettuali. Il design degli interni è descritto da una superficie curva bianca continua che non proietta ombre e non legge profondità. Il risultato è uno spazio sconfinato che sembra continuare all'infinito. 

 

 

Le bâtiment devient un fond vide et surréaliste, avec de petites fenêtres triangulaires dispersées au hasard, comme s'il s'agissait d'oiseaux en vol. Le premier étage du bâtiment abrite le hall d'entrée et le café, tandis que les deuxième et troisième sont principalement des espaces d'exposition. L'espace de stockage est uniformément réparti sur les différents étages, avec des parois mobiles qui permettent aux espaces d'exposition d'être très flexibles.

 

The first floor of the building holds the entry lobby and café, while the second and third is mainly exhibition space. Storage space is spread out evenly through the floors, with movable walls that allow the exhibition spaces to bevery flexible in scale and function.

 

L'edificio diventa uno sfondo vuoto e surreale, con piccole finestre triangolari sparse in modo casuale, come se fossero uccelli in volo. Il primo piano dell'edificio ospita l'atrio d'ingresso e il caffè, mentre il secondo e il terzo sono principalmente spazi espositivi. Lo spazio di archiviazione è distribuito uniformemente sui diversi piani, con pareti mobili che consentono agli spazi espositivi di essere molto flessibili in scala e funzione. 

 

 

La coque extérieure en métal agit en contraste pour créer une enveloppe finie à un intérieur blanc étonnamment infini. La forme organique lisse crée une sensation différente mais surréaliste par rapport à son environnement urbain. À 300 mètres de l'océan, la forme du bâtiment rappelle la pierre polie qui a été jetée du littoral et déplacée dans cet environnement urbain saturé.

 

The exterior metallic shell acts in contrast to create a finite edge to an unexpectedly infinite white interior. The smooth organic form creates a different yet surreal feeling when compared to its urban setting. Being 300 meters from the ocean, the building form resembles the smooth stone that’s been cast from the shore and displaced in this saturated urban setting.

 

Il guscio metallico esterno agisce in contrasto per creare un involucro finito a un interno bianco inaspettatamente infinito. La forma organica liscia crea una sensazione diversa ma surreale rispetto al suo ambiente urbano. A 300 metri dall'oceano, la forma dell'edificio ricorda la pietra levigata che è stata lanciata dalla riva e spostata in questo ambiente urbano saturo.
