Situé dans le nouveau district Tianfu à Chengdu dans la province du Sichuan, Unis Chip City est l’un des nombreux projets en cours le long de la Tianfu Avenue. À proximité de cette grande artère, le Loop of Wisdom attire l’attention avec sa forme fluide et sa couleur rouge vif. Sa forme rappelle celle d’une boucle archétypale, à la fois universelle, organique, géométrique, énigmatique, mais immédiatement reconnaissable.
Located in the Tianfu New District of Chengdu in Sichuan, Unis Chip City is one of several developments springing up along the Tianfu Avenue. Situated next to this major artery, the Loop of Wisdom commands attention with its flowing form and vibrant red color. Designed as a continuous ring, the loop’s form is archetypal and universal; organic and geometric; enigmatic yet instantly recognizable.

Au-delà de son programme culturel, la structure fluide intègre un espace public spectaculaire : une promenade ondulée sur le toit. Le nouveau bâtiment devient à la fois parcours et architecture, tout en permettant à la nature de se développer tout autour, en-dessous et à l’intérieur de la structure.
In addition to its cultural program, the fluid structure incorporates a spectacular public space – an undulating rooftop trail. The new building becomes a path and architecture at the same time, while allowing nature to continue around, under and within the form of the structure.
Progettato come un anello continuo, la forma è archetipica e universale; organica e geometrica; enigmatica ma immediatamente riconoscibile. Oltre al suo evidente fascino estetico e al programma culturale, la struttura fluida incorpora uno spettacolare spazio pubblico: un sentiero ondulato sul tetto.
Sur le toit, le ruban rouge se déploie sur 698 mètres et atteint jusqu'à 25 mètres au-dessus du sol, en offrant une vue panoramique sur la nature environnante et les montagnes au loin. Sa surface est constituée d'un asphalte en caoutchouc souple – le matériau utilisé pour les pistes d’athlétisme. Au-dessus de la piste, le toit est couvert de tuiles en aluminium réalisées sur mesure, dont 15 218 au profil unique et avec leur propre code numérique, forment une peau sans jointures apparentes dans la forme sinueuse de la passerelle.
The rooftop walkway measures 698 m around, rising 25 m from its ground level access to offer spectacular views of the surrounding greenery and distant mountains. Its surface is rubber asphalt – the material used for athletics tracks. Above the track, the rooftop surface is composed of custom aluminium tiles. 15,218 of these, each with its own unique profile and numeric code, form a seamless skin for the serpentine shape.
La passerella sul tetto misura 698 m intorno, innalzandosi fino a 25 m dal suo accesso a livello del suolo per offrire una vista spettacolare sulla vegetazione circostante e sulle montagne lontane. La sua superficie è in asfalto-gomma – il materiale utilizzato per le piste di atletica.
