"La Galerie" est la nouvelle œuvre architecturale signée Richard Rogers qui rejoint le Parcours Art & Architecture du Château La Coste, aux cotés des autres pavillons conçus par des architectes de la carrure de Franck Gehry, Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando et Jean Nouvel. Au milieu du vignoble, "La Galerie" est un espace de 120m2, situé en porte-à-faux d’une colline au milieu des arbres. L’architecte a choisi cet emplacement isolé et inhabituel pour cette œuvre qui a nécessité une conception et une fabrication sur mesure.
“La Galerie” is a new architectural design by Richard Rogers connected to the Art and Architecture layout of Château La Coste, standing alongside other pavilions designed by architects of the calibre of Franck Gehry, Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando and Jean Nouvel. Set on a hillside in the middle of a vineyard, “La Galerie” is a 120 m² space that projects into the trees. The architect chose this isolated and unusual location for an installation that required a tailor-made design.
"La Galerie” è la nuova opera d’architettura firmata Richard Rogers che si unisce al percorso di Arte e Architettura di Château La Coste, affiancondosi agli altri padiglioni progettati da architetti del calibro di Franck Gehry, Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando e Jean Nouvel. Situata su una collina al centro del vigneto, "La Galerie” è uno spazio di 120 m2, proiettato a sbalzo tra gli alberi.

Pensé pour avoir le moins d’impact sur l’environnement, la construction se projette à 18 mètres au-dessus du sol, revêtue d’un acier satiné. La structure du bâtiment, l’avancée hors de terre, et les activités sismiques de la région ont nécessité des techniques d’ingénierie et construction techniques utilisées pour les ponts. Les poutres en acier orange se rétrécissent au fur et à mesure que la construction avance dans les airs. Là où le bâtiment touche le sol, il le fait subtilement de manière à cacher l’ingénierie robuste et souterraine qui supporte la structure à partir d’une seule extrémité.
Designed to cause minimum environmental impact, the construction projects 18 metres above the ground and is clad with satin-coated steel. The building structure, its projection above ground, and local seismic activity, called for the kind of construction technology and engineering used for building bridges. The orange-coloured steel girders narrow as the construction rises into the air. Where the building touches the ground, it does so in such a subtle way as to conceal the sturdy underground engineering supporting the structure at one end only.
Pensata per avere il minor impatto ambientale, la costruzione si proietta a 18 metri dal suolo, rivestita in acciaio satinato. La struttura dell'edificio, la proiezione fuori terra e le attività sismiche dell'area hanno richiesto un’ingegneria e tecniche costruttive utilizzate per i ponti. Le travi d'acciaio arancioni si restringono mentre la costruzione si sviluppa nell'aria. A l’intérieur le sol de la galerie fait de résine coulée peut bouger afin de rester en harmonie avec le bâtiment. La salle rectangulaire unique offre une vue sur le paysage grâce à une ouverture de 5x4 m à l’extrémité de l’espace, au-delà de laquelle s’étend une terrasse.
The cast resin floor moves to absorb shocks in harmony with the building. “La Galerie” consists of one single rectangular room with a 5x4 metre aperture at the end, beyond which there is a terrace with views of the countryside as far as the eye can see.
All'interno, il pavimento in resina colata può muoversi in modo da rispondere alle sollecitazioni in armonia con l'edificio. “La Galerie” è composta da un’unica sala rettangolare delimitata all’estremità da un’apertura di 5x4 m, oltre la quale si estende un terrazzo da cui si gode di una vista a perdita d’occhio sul paesaggio.
