Le nouveau centre hospitalier se dresse entre urbanité et nature, en lisière haute de la baie de Monaco, en symbiose avec son site unique. Les architectes transforment l’hôpital existant en balcon sur la mer, tout en maintenant une permanence des soins. Ils conçoivent de grands plateaux techniques efficaces et évolutifs grâce au socle végétalisé qui permet de récupérer du terrain et de gérer les continuités viaires.
Overlooking the Monaco bay, the new hospital complex oscillates between the urban world and the spirit of nature, while achieving symbiosis with its unique surroundings. Architects are tasked with the transformation of the existing hospital into a balcony with a sea view, while ensuring the continuity of care. They are designing vast, efficient and scalable technical platforms, thanks to the greened plinth that allows space savings and helps them manage the continuity of existing roads.
Proiettato sulla baia di Monaco, il nuovo centro ospedaliero si inserisce tra contesto urbano e natura, in simbiosi con un sito unico. Gli architetti hanno trasformato l'ospedale esistente disegnando una sorta di grande balcone proiettato sul mare. Il progetto considera l’avanzamento del cantiere parallelamente all’attività dell’ospedale. La costruzione di uno zoccolo tecnico e vegetalizzato permette di razionalizzare la gestione degli spazi e gestire la continuità delle vie d’accesso alla struttura esistente.
Au-dessus de ce socle, le bâtiment se soulève et dessine des voûtes ouvertes sur un vaste belvédère dominant la mer d’un côté et sur l’accueil de l’autre.
The building rises from the plinth, outlining arches that open onto an extensive gazebo overlooking the sea on one side and the reception on the other.
Al di sopra di questo basamento, l'edificio si sviluppa in altezza disegnando delle volte che si aprono su un vasto belvedere che domina il mare da un lato e la hall d’ingresso, dall'altro.
Une ombrière blanche protège la façade. Constituée de lames brise-soleil suspendues, elle ondule, légère, comme animée par la brise. Évoquant un drapé, elle ménage des ouvertures cintrées vers la mer et l’horizon. Cette enveloppe laisse circuler l’air, filtre les rayons du soleil, jouant un rôle thermique essentiel.
A white shade house protects the façade. Made up of suspended solar shading blades, it undulates, akin to a light piece of cloth caressed by a delicate draft. It’s drape-like shape creates curved openings onto the sea and horizon. This shell lets air freely circulate, filters the sun’s rays, and plays a crucial part as thermal regulator.
La facciata del nuovo ospedale è individuata da un “velo” brise-soleil bianco, che sembra ondeggiare leggero mosso da vento e animato dalla luce naturale. Il movimento di questa superficie, crea aperture ad arco verso il mare e l'orizzonte e permette all'aria di circolare, filtrando i raggi solari e svolgendo un ruolo termico essenziale.
Procédant d’une démarche innovante, le parti pris architectural de l’établissement de santé apporte les meilleures réponses techniques et fonctionnelles au service du patient et de la qualité des soins, mais propose aussi des solutions environnementales ambitieuses. Il émerge d’un nouveau regard sur l’expression architecturale d’un hôpital.
Based on an innovative method, the architectural approach of this facility brings the best technical and functional solutions to the table, in order to provide the best quality of healthcare and services. Last but not least, it also integrates ambitious environmental solutions. This work is result of a fresh look on what architecture can mean for a hospital.
