"New Standards" raconte l'histoire de Puutalo Oy (Maisons de bois), une entreprise industrielle fondée en 1940 pour faire face à la crise des réfugiés caréliens, avec environ 420 000 personnes évaquées par la guerre.

 

New Standards tells the story of Puutalo Oy (Wooden houses Ltd), an industrial concern founded in 1940 to tackle the Karelian refugee crisis when approximately 420,000 people were displaced by the war.

 

"New Standards" racconta la storia di Puutalo Oy (Case in Legno SpA), un’impresa industriale fondata nel 1940 per affrontare la crisi dei profughi careliani, con circa 420,000 persone sfollate a causa della guerra.

Commandé par Archinfo Finlande, l'exposition est organisée par Laura Berger, Philip Tidwell et Kristo Vesikansa. New Standards documente l'histoire et l'évolution de ces bâtiments préfabriqués des années 1940 au milieu de la décennie suivante. Des dessins d'archives, des photographies et des publicités illustrent les changements apportés aux bâtiments en raison des besoins dictés par différentes conditions climatiques et différents contextes culturels.

 

Commissioned by Archinfo Finland, the exhibition is curated by Laura Berger, Philip Tidwell and Kristo Vesikansa. The New Standards exhibition documents the history and evolution of these prefabricated buildings from the 1940s to the mid-1950s. Archive drawings, photographs and posters illustrate the alterations made to the buildings to cater for different weather conditions and cultural contexts.

 

Commissionata da Archinfo Finland, l’esposizione è curata Laura Berger, Philip Tidwell e Kristo Vesikansa. L’esposizione New Standards documenta la storia e l’evoluzione di questi edifici prefabbricati dagli anni Quaranta fino alla metà del decennio successivo. Disegni d’archivio, fotografie e annunci pubblicitari illustrano le modifiche apportate negli edifici per necessità dettate da diverse condizioni climatiche e contesti culturali differenti.

Pour illustrer le développement des maisons et de leurs habitants au fil des décennies, des photos contemporaines de Juuso Westerlund documentent les maisons telles qu'elles sont aujourd'hui habitées de la Finlande à la Colombie.

 

Per illustrare in che modo le case e i loro abitanti si sono sviluppati nel corso dei decenni, le foto contemporanee di Juuso Westerlund, documentano le case così come sono abitate oggi dalla Finlandia alla Colombia.

 

To illustrate how these houses and their inhabitants have developed over the decades, contemporary photos taken by Juuso Westerlund show how the houses (as they are today) are inhabited everywhere from Finland to Colombia.
