by Joseph di Pasquale. Dear editor, I read your latest editorial entitled “We need to change”. You are right: we need to change as architects, there is no doubt about that and, in my opinion, we need to go even further than you are, quite rightly, suggesting.
You are referring quite pertinently to expertise in the realms of science, technology, communication and the latest frontiers of artificial intelligence and robotics. But, again in my view, scientific and technological expertise alone is not enough to bring about the necessary change.
But alongside the antiquated notion of “form”, design itself contains the basic elements constituting the very essence of the history of design or, in other words, fate and causality.
Over approximately the last 20 years we have been witnessing an authentic cultural-behavioural revolution that has already overwhelmed and redefined entire sectors of our everyday life, industry and the economy. Read hall
